There’s A Walrus In My Wardrobe

Standard

Jackets…pins…buttons…clothes… We had to make animal sculptures from clothes.

I had trouble thinking of an animal to make but I thought that since there were lots of black and white clothes I should make a panda! (Plus, pandas are my favourite animal!)

This is Couch Potat0 Panda!

I enjoyed this workshop very much!!!

How would you like to be in a

RaDiOpLaY

with a narrator that has a funny ol’ voice, Velcro and goo?

This radio play is called “Dad’s Shed” and is about:

Three kids that go into their dad’s shed and go to many different and silly lands in a teleportation machine.

A    RaDiOpLaY is an audio story with clever sound effects to tell the story better.

For you to get a clearer picture of what I am saying, here is my day as part of a RADIOPLAY.

Eh-hem… Introducing:

HANNAH’S

NOTEBOOK!!!

In summary I did these sound effects in the play:

Teleportation machine going and landing by shaking maracas

Bongo drums- the drums that played while the king was coming

The opening of Jake’s nappy by ripping velcro apart

Vocal animal sounds, Applause and Screaming.

SO, now that you’ve got a brief idea what being in a radio play is like, do you feel like you should have a go?

Because let me just say, this workshop is absolutely worth doing!

Here is a photo of the speakers, props and stations.

Game Masters Exhibition

Standard

(logo from ACMI Game Masters Page)

There were lots of retro games such as Donkey Kong.

Also some new games.

I played a new “Sonic” 3D game with my brother. It was fun.

I had a go at a game called “Child of Eden” designed by Tetsuya Mizuguchi.

According to Good Game at ABC 3 “Child of Eden is based on the concept of Synaesthesia,

a rare medical condition where people actually see colours from sounds,

tastes and even letters and numbers”.

It had amazing artwork and music.

I went to this in September 2012, at ACMI Melbourne, with my family.

Being a Reader… author… then an illustrator… and a publisher…

The author of this workshop was H.J Harper, who is an author from Melbourne who writes a series called Star League.

There was an Illustrator at this workshop whose name was Sue deGennaro who has illustrated The Tomorrow Book and The Princess and the Packet of Frozen Peas.

All I did was think of a title, write a story, illustrated it and got it published.

And then ACORNS came to be!!!

I enjoyed all of it but especially liked the illustrating because I love drawing.

Here is a pdf link to my book (please note it is a first draft as we did not have time to edit it).

I went to this workshop Saturday 1st September at ArtPlay.

Recommended age: 7-12yrs.
